Of course, if you ask him, and me, now, what our opinons of the incident are, I’m pretty sure the newest addition makes it harder to swallow.

Umpires should be “unnoticeable” in the game. Aside from their low yells and signaling, we shouldn’t even realize they’re there. In Bob’s case, he always seems to be the center of attention. For an umpire, that’s not right and tells you a lot about how he does his job.
