And yes, maybe information does seem hard to find. Here you've highlighted a bunch of site features that sound good, so why not permanently highlight these with a section of links down the side. Now for instance you've got Blogroll, which is all very nice but is just pointing people away from your site. Why not use space like that to highlight stuff here on this site.
