If McGuire is struggling, it is more than likely he is working on new pitches or mechanical issues. The only people who can truly assess his progress are the coaching and player development staff, and maybe the odd fan in the seats who may notice that he is throwing a lot of changeups or cutters, or something, and is savvy enough to realize that he is on a learning curve. They haven't put a timeline on it, but I'm hopeful that he'll get to play in July-August. In any case, they'll likely assign him and place him on the DL at some point in the near-future.
