Does anyone know what Mills' velocity is like? Can anyone give a breakdown of his pitches?

Brad Mills certainly deserved a chance already. After the next poor start that Reyes will most likely have, AA will finally release him, and promote Mills. Reyes will forever be remembered as the Jay that had the 29 game losing streak. (after the next loss)

What Brad Mills situation? He is destined to be a AAAA pitcher. Checking box scores and stats never really tell the whole story. I remember him with the Jays last year - his stuff isn't impressive and his velocity is poor. He is not an AL East starter (either are Litch, Cecil or apparently Reyes.

There is no doubt that Toronto has accumulated some nice assets that they could move. Pitching is at a premium. They also have a glut of catchers. I would be looking for a high end players who may still be downstream rather than good players for use this year. Stick with the building MODE.

I think it's more a case of can he keep it up. I say that because Mills has been in the system for a while and you can't just throw all those things out the window. I do think he should have been called up for a spot start or two but what would you really learn in that short time.

Me thinks that Mills is most likely part of a 2012 bullpen ploy by AA.

But the Ploy starts with the starting staff.

Realistically, we've three starters worth sticking with. Romero, Morrow and Drabek. All three could be Number 3 or BETTER starters on a contender - IF they can put their asses in gear. We've our next HIGH CEILING starter who has just started at AA - Henderson Alvarez - now throwing 96 - 98 and generally an Ace in the making. I think he has a serious shot at the 2012 rotation. That gives us FOUR Number 3 or better guys. I see the fifth spot going to Litsch, Mills, Villanueva, Stewart or JoJo. I see the four losers of that battle going to the bullpen with three or four of Scrabble, Janssen, Camp, Frasor, McGowan, Perez or several others.

IF any of Francisco, Rauch, Dotel or ANY others quality as Type B Free Agents I see AA offering them arbitration and letting them go for the draft picks (if the new agreement allows that).

Clearly, by mid-2012 after youngsters; Lawrie, Thames, Snider, Gose and JPA have grown to mesh with Bautista, Escobar, Lind and Hill our offense - and defense - will be well above average. At that point, mid-2012, our only weakness looks to be one or two starters and by late 2013 we'll have at least seven new guys ready to step up and help the rotation.

We are seriously close to being seriously good.
