Mat - I too am giddy about JPA.

I GUARANTEE he'll at least three 40+ homer seasons. The guy has stunning power pull and push. His defensive work is going to be above average and D'Arnaud, Jimenez, Perez, Nessy and all other catchers in the system had better really turn it on if they wish to challenge him.

I think that JPA has exceeded many peoples expectations - particularly with the bat. But he needs to get batter at blocking balls in the dirt. How many times this season have we seen him carelessly try to back hand a pitch? Molina is not a great mentor for JPA in this area - unless JPA can take seriously the whole do as I say ot as I do!
Ultimately the bat seems good, the defense continues to be a question mark.

I think sticking by the Carlos Santana comp is a bit foolish. JPA will be a nice catcher for us, but i dont ever see him hitting much better than your predicted line this sesason.
Santana's ceiling is like .300/.400/500... JPA is not that good.
