That should be a non-factor if he is primarily used as a DH. As much as Vladdy likes to play the field, anyone who watched him out there in the playoffs in 2010 knows that those days are over for him. He also has to consider the fact that the rest of the AL East is all on natural grass, so he won't be on Rogers Center turf all of the time either way. That and he could very well play LF when playing numerous times in Boston, Manny style.

The way I see it is that the Angels could still fit him in there, but other than that the Jays offer him the most playing time and chances to win. He surely doesn't want to bite the bullet and sign in KC, SEA, CLE....ect..

Vladdy has always been my very favorite baseball player, and I would love to see him finish his career in Toronto. The real problem I see is the fact that his knees might not like playing on turf, and I am sure Vlad would much prefer playing on grass.

Rommie Lewis was DFA immediately following the Wells trade in order to clear a spot on the 40 man roster.

Mat - shockingly - unprecedentedly - I agree with all you've written!

I could say it's not a surprise because wise men think alike - however - I'm sure even wiser men than I would say - but idiots seldom differ.
