One of my memories of the 1992 World Series was rooting for Eichorn when both Timlin and Eichorn were warming up to get that very last out. Timlin not Eichorn ended up getting the most important save in Blue Jays history.

Indeed, Eichhorn was consistent, and his delivery was just so smooth.

For some stupid techinical reasons I couldn't embed the video I had planned on putting in this post to show people what his delivery looked like, BUT you can find it here:

2 great looks at his delivery, and a great example of what Mylegacy was talking about how batters just flailed helplessly at his offerings!

For you youngins' that never saw Mark Eichhorn pitch - especially in 1986 - you've missed a true Wonder of the World - OK - maybe just the Baseball World.

I really can't describe the CONSISTENCY of the guy - day after day - he was just spectacular! He spun shit that batters just flailed at - they might have had better luck with their eyes closed.

I wonder if any of his pitching "tapes" still exists on the Inter Tubes somewhere. Well worth looking at if you can find any.

Mark Eichhorn - with Henke and Ward give us - arguably three of the best relief pitchers that ever played the game!
