I am sooo glad that we have surprised some people with this ranking. It wouldn't be much fun just throwing out same names as everyone else without putting our favorites out there. Nick has real potential that we felt was really overlooked due to his obscurity caused by various complications in school and competition levels.

If I had to make a decision today as to where he'll wind up when he gets to The Show with some time under his belt, I'd have to lean towards closing. It's a safer bet that he'll have 2 dominant pitches with 1 good 3rd pitch than betting on him developing enough of an arsenal to start at the higher levels. He could surprise as a starter though, mostly due to his inexperience and work ethic, but I do think he'll close some games before long.

This is the first guy I am actually COMPLETELY surprised by!

I don't have Purdy on my radar - at any level. But for a guy just learning to pitch a 1.16 whip - at any level is interesting. I'd be delighted IF this kid is a real prospect as he advances - however - I've me doubts. Hope I'm wrong.
