Paul McCartney penned a song in 1965 that would seem appropriate for Brian Cashman to sing.

"Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away,
Now it looks as though they're here to stay,
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Suddenly, I'm not half the man I used to be,
There's a shadow hanging over me,
Oh, yesterday came suddenly."

Now, perhaps something closer to parity might exist in the AL East.

Other GM's in that division can now smell blood on the floor and are ready to pounce on the wounded Yankees.

How sweet it is!!

Bitter? Maybe you should read my posts from over the last year or so. Since Alex Anthopolous has taken the reigns of the Jays I, and the majority of Jays fans, am about as happy as can be. You, on the other hand, sound quite bitter in how you responded to my post - by looking in the rearview mirror.

Stronger farm system? I'll let BA take care of that one. It's not even close.

You're a bitter Blue Jay fan. Dont be upset that you havent won anything since the early 90s. Dont be upset that you wont win anything for another 3+ decades. Accept your fate and know that just because the Yankees missed out on one free agrent (because we really didnt aggressively pursue Doc), we have other ways to excel. Plus, we have developed a stronger farm system. If that trend continues we will not only have the financial muscle but a farm system that competes with the best of them. Good luck missing out on the playoffs...again! Poor lil pumpkin.
