I get the reason some may not be overly enthusiastic about Davis, but I still believe he could be used as a trade chip and that he'll be platooned as effectively as possible. If the Jays go after Justin Upton or Matt Kemp, throwing Rajai as the first piece on the table helps mitigate the needs of an OF replacement for that team. After that, it's all about giving them the right value for that piece. What that is, I have no clue, but it's going to be extremely hard to land either player this off season. If Alex pulls this one out of his hat, I'll be as impressed as I have been with most of his moves - including adding Davis.

I'm not a massive Davis fan, but I do believe he adds exactly the dimension the Jays lacked. How many guys stole 50 bases in 2010? 3. That puts Rajai as one of the 3 fastest players in the league and Juan Pierre only beat him since he had more than 100 ABs more than him over the season. All I'm saying is that if speed was the issue with the Jays in 2010, it isn't anymore. By my count, it leaves the DH position, possibly 3B depending on where Bautista plays, and RP as the only issues remaining on the club.

Manny - could happen - 'specially since AA is saying he's not afraid to try Lind at 1st.

Upton - could happen - if the DBacks are interested in moving him, this time of year is the perfect time to overprice him - if someone bites - so much the better. However, many a dead trade in November has sprung wings in December at the Winter Meetings. This might too.

Rajai - sorry - I just can't get to being positive about the guy. To me strictly a 4th or 5th outfielder and pinch runner. Basically, I see him coming to run when they used to put in JMac. He could be useful - but not too often.

AA seems to be saying there are still so many balls in the air and so many different ways they could fall that he sees lots of options. As Lee and others sign and balls are no longer freely available for scratching - at that point I see AA making some moves.
