It's also worth mentioning AA could have signed everyone if he wanted to except he didn't feel comfortable giving up bonuses to players who didn't deserve it and he had a set price, or so this article says.

Oh and Loux has become a free agent. I'm sure Jays will look into it.

lolwut, I think you're bang on for all points. I would point out that the "missed out on" picks probably we're playing the odds that they could be drafted higher next year and get a better slot bonus as a result. The money really does start to get low when you get out passed the 6th-8th rds. I would have loved for the Jays to get them as well, but with so much money spent already (remember that they also spent $10 million on Hech and 3.6 million for both Cardova and Gab on top of all draft signings) that it left the Jays with a real limit to what they would pay. Most guys that were left unsigned were so young that waiting 1 more year didn't really hurt their chances to make it to The Show and gave them a shot to make some big coin and get an education while doing it.

Love Sanchez as well Griego....the Jays were apparently only able to scout him as much as they did because of the new scouting structure. It was probably the same reason they felt comfortable enough to draft him so high in the draft.

Overall, I'm just happy we got the bulk of the talent we could get in the draft. Would we have picked or taken so many overslot guys with Ricciardi running the show? Never. Therefore, I'm elated about this draft class, I really am.

I really would have liked to see Jays sign Cotto and Bryant. We could use as much depth at those positions and I really like both of their skill set. They are also both very young and raw and could be players with huge upside.

But overall, I am happy with the draft and the fact Jays signed most of their high picks.

I also could never understand why people are so down on Mcguire pick. It's possible he can turn out to be a #2 starter which is very solid and even if he doesn't, he is almost a lock to make the rotation at some point.

I also love our depth at SS now which has dramatically increased over the year with the likes of Escobar, Hech, Thon, Optiz.

steal of the draft for the bluejays was aaron sanchez with first supplemental. another good outing today, got to get control under wraps but now has 24 k's in 14 innings, with era of 1.69.

Judging from his development over the summer, methinks Logan Ehlers is the one that got away.Personally, I would have preferred him to Griffin or Decker.
