I know Adeiny got off on the wrong foot and that for many people, the first impression a player makes is really hard to shake, but I think you need to give him the benefit of the doubt. Here are his stats over his last 10 games (he was also riding a 12 game hitting streak until last night): .333 avg in 42 ABs/ 14 hits/ 1 Tr/ 1 HR/ 3 BB - 8 SO/ .370 OBP/ .476 SLG/ .846 OPS/ 3 SB, not caught once. At just 21 and playing in an entirely new country / atmosphere, Adeiny is rocking it. Plain and simple. He's hitting .343 versus lefties in AA, something that will pay off huge in The Show when he gets there. And, that doesn't include the rave reviews he's getting for his defensive play which includes a rocket of an arm and range Ozzie Smith would be proud of. Adiney deserves to be talked about, and Jays fans deserve to know he's coming, because he's a big reason that they should be excited about the Jays future, as you should be as well! He's also shown some pop at the plate as well. AA is simply looking at getting as much premium talent as possible. So far, he has been a bust at the plate. Yes, I know that he is dealing with a lot on/off the field. However, there was little evidence that he could hit in cuba and even less that he can hit here.
