I asked a Pirates blogger about Dotel’s availability since they can turn the closing duties to Evan Meek, but he argued the Pirates would want a good return since Dotel has that option which is relatively cheap.

Also, the White Sox are on the fence in terms of whether or not they will compete. Of the players available I think Thornton is definitely the best.
