Didn't you feel like the whole time Ricciardi was in Toronto, you (as a fan) can kinda knew what we had to do as a baseball team to be great and how we would have to get there with a flexible payroll; all the while Ricciardi bare spoke the talk, and didn't walkthe walk?
.
Well Double A's is the consummate Blue Jay fan. Not an MLSE type, but a do-it-the-right-way-no-bullshit-never guy.
.
He knows good people and good people like and trust AA. The results of his real work won't be seen for a few years (when Drabek and Wallace are pro's), but he has even adressed the short-term situation with an ability to spend the money otherwise was going to be spent on any AA-plan player (young, talented and controllable) on risk/reward players that fill gaps and have come at a price sometimes extravagant (as in the TOP bidding team, Hechavaria) or bag of balls (F. lewis + others you have above)
