Calix Crabbe Best in NH Loss

SP Robert Bell threw enough of a good game to win if the offensive force behind him had been mightier, as it was, he only got 3 runs of support to the 4 ER he gave up and took the loss as a result. He gave up those 4 runs due to 5 hits allowed and 2 walks, making the Reading squad very efficient at getting their runners in when they could. Bell also struck out 5 in his outing. 24 year old Zach Dials and 28 year old Bubbie Buzachero came on after Bell to shut the door with 3 shut out innings.

Calix Crabbe was the only NH hitter to get 2 hits in the game, while the remainder of the squad could only manage 4 of their own. Darin Mastroianni got one of those and stole a base thereafter, while Adam Calderone was thrown out in his steal attempt after earning himself a walk.

Meanwhile, Domonic Brown led the way for Reading with 2 hits including a double. Reading scored all 4 of their runs in the 3rd inning, an indication of just how efficient NH pitching was the remainder of the game.

New Hampshire take on the Reading (PHI) squad once again today.
