I entirely agree with wbruyea who really answer Ian's question,
Something that includes one of Brett Cecil or Zach Stewart and Jason Frasor for Starlin Marte may be the best chance the Jays have at landing him from the Cubs. The Cubs are really at a cross roads right now and need to win soon. Guys like Derek Lee, Carlos Zambrano, Alfonso Soriano, and Aramis Ramirez are not going to be around forever, and they definitely need more SP and RP in order to win now - not easy things to get on the market. If the Jays don't land Adeiny Hechevarria, they will intensify their talks with CHC, if not, they may have a new trade partner in Minnesota who lost Joe Nathan for the majority of 2010. Guys to consider with the Twins include SS Daniel Santana and 3B Danny Valencia.

I think Tallet and Frasor could be of interest to the Cubs, but I still think it's missing a little something to get someone of Starlin's stature. They may be able to get him if it's Zach Stewart or Henderson Alvarez instead, simply because they're young and their ceilings are higher. Another piece the Jays may consider including is Alex Gonzalez, who would give the Cubs a better SS and allow them to move Theriot to 2B and would give them a better MI as a result. Mike Fontenot would take over the super utility role, a much better role for him. The Jays can use a combination of Mike McCoy and John McDonald this season until Starlin is ready to take the role!

I'm crossing my fingers something gets done, maybe the Nathan loss will push the Cubs to grab Frasor before he's dealt to MIN, although MIN has tons of internal options (Matt Guerrier, Jose Mijares and Anthony Slama are my favourites there for fantasy purposes).

Jays could trade a major league ready starter and closer for a couple of the Cubs prospects so that AA could continue to build the farm without impacting the big team too much. You have to give up some quality to get some in return. I would think one of Castro or Lee and a top A level prospect would net Frasor and one of our starters who got their feet wet in the majors last year like Cecil.
