Hey guys,
I heard the news on mlbtraderumors about possibly adding Branyan. I have no idea where he would fit in with the roster the way it currently stands. I have to assume it's a one year with an option type deal. AA is looking to grab a veteran bat for cheap.
It got me thinking as well. Overbay and Branyan both hit the same way and play the same position ie no chance of a platoon. So this has to be a sign that Overbay is on his way out of town. I think his bitching in the media last season about The Cito all but assured his exit.
I don't know, but I think trading Lind would generate a huge return. He is arbitration eligible for the first time next offseason and the team may not be interested in paying him the 4 or 5 million he is sure to ask for if he wins another silver slugger. But it may be a bit premature to think he is on the market. I would think the Jays would try to sign him to an extension first and if unable perhaps then quietly throw his name around.

Interesting theory about moving Adam Lind. At first I thought you might be going stir crazy in the lon baseball-less winter, but it makes a lot of sense.

He's a former 4th round pick, so it's not like his pedigree dictates that there's a lot of upside.

He just had a monster breakout, so his value will never be higher.

And, perhaps most importantly, he's super cheap and controllable.

Sure, 5 more .300-30-100 seasons would be nice, but if we could get a big piece for him it would be a huge win...
